WAYO, the new non-commercial, community-driven radio station in Rochester–which presented at the Rochester Improvement Society’s “Lightening Rounds” event in April–has launched a campaign to raise funds to purchase equipment as well as cover the fixed costs of the first year of operations at wayofm.org/indiegogo2014.
After nearly three years of work, the essential elements of the station are in place including FCC approval, a broadcast tower and a studio space at the Fedder Industrial Park on East Main Street, fifty programs for broadcast, an emerging governance structure, and a financial sustainability strategy.
While WAYO has come so far, they need your help to make the station a reality and have launched an Indiegogo campaign to cover initial costs such as equipment and the first few months’ fixed costs.
Help to build something truly special in the Rochester arts community! Please consider donating and spreading the word about the campaign. Great donor perks are available at all levels of donation including a sticker, pin, t-shirt, mix CDs by Rochester notables, an exclusive 7″ record, and original art by over thirty talented artists.
